A Catalogue of The Higher Plants of The Adhwani Temperate Forest and Its Fringe Areas (Western Himalaya, India)

The present study deals with the floristic inventory of higher plants (angiosperms and gymnosperms) found in a richly biodiverse temperate forest area (Adhwani forest; 30º06?1?–30º06?7? N 78º72?3? –78º72?6? E; 1700–2200 m asl (above sea level) western Himalaya, India. A total 477 species flowering belonging to 105 families 315 genera were recorded Adhwani its fringe areas. information on plant life form, fruiting, local elevational distribution, indigenous uses availability status are provided. An account invasive alien occurring is also Gentiana cephalodes Edgew. (Gentianaceae) Buddleja crispa Benth. (Buddlejaceae) revealed as new distribution recordings among flora Garhwal district. Asteraceae (47 33 genera) was dominant family followed by Fabaceae, Poaceae, Lamiaceae, Rosaceae Ranunculaceae. Desmodium (9 species) genus Crotolaria, Cyperus Euphorbia (6 each). herbs dominate forms 317 (66.45%) shrubs (14.46%), trees (12.99%) climbers (6.07%). represents three IUCN index viz. Quercus lamellosa (NT), oblongata (NT) Ulmus wallichiana (VU) 57 species. presented catalogue comprehensive will be helpful scientists, planners department when for developing managing this area.
